Federal
Hill Neighborhood
Baltimore is known for its
distinctive neighborhoods. The personality
of Federal Hill is an eclectic mix of its
historic roots, which is reflected in the
graceful architecture, and the infusion
of so many professionals which has attracted
dozens of new restaurants, clubs, and shops.
Among the many features
of the neighborhood:
Convenience: You
can walk to just about everything--your
favorite place for cappuccino, the dry cleaners,
Cross Street Market, your favorite pub,
and down to the inner harbor. And because
it’s so centrally located, you’re
just minutes away from the MARC train, light
rail, and interstate 95.
Charm and Culture:
While it’s easy to find hard crabs
and a pitcher of Natty Bo, Federal Hill
also has some of the best reviewed restaurants
in the city. It also has art galleries,
museums, and during the summer, both Shakespeare
and movies in the park. Yet, it still has
the friendliness of a small town.
Beauty: Because
the neighborhood is so old, you’ll
find beautiful Federal style townhomes,
brick sidewalks, cobblestone streets, and
trees everywhere. And no where else in the
city will you find such spectacular views
of the city sky line and the harbor.
Sports: What’s
that beautiful glow to the west? If the
sun has already set, most likely it’s
a night game for Orioles or the Ravens.
While other people pay $25 for parking,
you just have to walk over to the stadiums.
If you’re looking to get involved
in sports yourself, there are local runners,
kayak, sailing and volleyball clubs, plus
many others. |
